Employment Options Annual Employment Awards Banquet

On May 19th 2005, Employment Options will celebrate its Annual Employment Awards Banquet, to honor members who have gone out into the community to work. The event will take place at the Employment Options Clubhouse on 82 Brigham Street, Marlborough from 6-8 PM. This year’s celebration will be particularly special! For the first time Employment Options’ Employment Awards Dinner will open its doors to ALL its supporters.

Each year members and their employers are recognized for participating in Options’ Employment Program. This year’s celebration is a fundraiser based on the theme of TEAMWORK. The speakers for this event will be Brooke Katz and her mother Elise Katz who will present a powerful story of hope and inspiration. Brooke enjoys speaking to the public about her illness and her recovery to encourage people to seek help and to dispel the stigma which surrounds those struggling with mental illness.

The employment programs namely Transitional, Supported and Independent Employment are currently working with companies including: CVS, Marshalls, Olive Gardens, Trader Joe’s and Harrison Conference Center to name a few. “Employment Options is always looking for new opportunities with area employers. Options provides a full service option – from finding the job, to training members for the position, to absence coverage, to continuous contact with the employer and member throughout the job tenure. The member gets a support system to rely on and eventually strives to hold an independent position, and the employer has a negligible turnover rate and someone to go to if they need help with the employee.” says Anupa Shah, Marketing and Employment Manager.

“It was an honor having the members of the Employment Options team join the Olive Garden family. The employees’ upbeat personalities and eagerness to grow were nice additions to the team. The never ending support we received from Options made the transitions smooth and simple. It has been a great opportunity to work with Employment Options.” Richard Schimps, General Manager, Olive Garden, Marlborough.

This event is sponsored in part by Banknorth and continues to receive support from local companies and community agencies.

Employment Options, Inc.
