Help Employment Options This Holiday Season!

In this season of giving the members, staff, and Board of Directors of Employment Options invite you to join in support of our organization's Annual Appeal so that our programs will continue to provide "gifts" such as:

Clubhouse & Young Adult Initiatives: Our "Clubhouse" program served 920 members in recovery with services such as employment, housing, advocacy, education, parenting support and wellness. The Young Adult Initiative is designed specifically for members ages 18-26. The program meets the needs of that specific age group through educational initiatives, social networking and events, building strong support networks, and connecting to other young adult programs.

Workforce Development: Employment Options supports more than 100 people each year in securing, retaining and upgrading positions. We presently have 62 members in the workforce. We provide skills assessments, employment counseling and career coaching, job search support, workplace skills development including basic computer proficiency, job training referrals, and support.

Family Initiatives: The majority of adults with mental illness are parents. They share the joys and concerns of all parents, in addition to the specific challenges of parenting while recovering from mental illness. Family Initiatives offers a variety of programs and served 73 custodial and non-custodial parents over the past year. We provide services such as parent support groups, family activities, and legal representation. The Family Initiatives programs are based on the belief that adults with mental illness want to be the best parents they can be and that parenting is a central and important part of recovery.

Furnishing Options: This program gave 650 low-income individuals and families in the Metro West area an opportunity to "make their house a home" by providing them with essential household goods at no cost, which enables them to focus limited funds on other basic needs. Furnishing Options additionally offers our members a training site to develop leadership and employment skills including customer service, retail merchandising and inventory control.
